BOKANG MOTSHABI - HIDING, A PERFORMANCE PIECE
" Lately, I've been sitting in the dark.
Trying to find the lighting parts of myself to share with the world.
Are you okay?
Can I see you?
Why have you been so quiet?
But, I have nothing to offer.
My energy is seeping through the holes on my face.
To find it,
You have to find me
A rarity I cannot share
A rarity only I can understand.
Do I want to be outside?
Maybe, I've seen enough.
Enough for me not to want to see more
The loudness has become the muse to my anxiety
The Joburg proverb "We should do coffee sometime" haS become the social quest I can't seem to fit into.
Am I hiding? Or Am I hidden?
