ABIGAIL NEL, DRIFTING HOME SELF PORTRAIT
This question prompts an inner chat, an ongoing exploration and reflection of every version of myself. Creating pinhole self-portraits was an opportunity to see my presence in another world, whose meaning continues to reveal itself.
Bio:
Abigail Nel is a Lens-based Artist in Johannesburg. They completed a BA in Visual Art at the University of Johannesburg In 2021. Following studies in Photography at Through The Lens Collective, completing Mid level in 2022 and Advanced course in 2023. Their work embodies introspection on themes of home, memory, and coming of age.
