NUNO RAMOS DE PINA - VOICES

Nuno de Pina is a visual artist born and resident in Cape Verde. He studied Social Communication at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, in 2004. He made his first exhibition "Amoramar" in 2011. In the same year, together with other national artists, he exhibited internationally at the Cineport Film Festival, in the city of João Pessoa, Brazil.In 2013, he participated in the "Temporary Occupations" Project with the documentary film "Terra Longe", joint work with Nenass Almeida.In 2015 he was one of the finalists in the 1st edition of the BCA Photography Prize, a joint initiative of Banco Comercial do Atlântico (BCA) and Associação Olho-de-Gente (AOJE)In 2019, he participates in the Catchupa Factory - New Photographers artistic residency, resulting in a collective exhibition curated by John Fleetwood.He is especially interested in signs of degradation and the passage of time found in objects and places where he passes. It seeks to capture overlays and contrasts of architectural elements with the natural landscape. He is also interested in the use of technology to superimpose and combine different images and create new compositions.
